Campden Tablets are used for sterilising and stabilising wine.
Campden Tablets are mainly Potassium Metabisulphite and is used to kill the wild yeast in fruit or grapes. This enables the cultured yeast we add to the wine to take a larger foot hold in the fermentable sugars giving a better end result and flavour.
Sulphur Dioxide of .44gm or .50gm if 1 tablet added in 5L.
Use: Add 1-2 tablets per 5L, crush and dissolve in a little warm water before adding to wine or must.
